06 May Welcome to the May Literacy Links
In this edition of Literacy Links we celebrate the Hotline Jingle’s historic induction to the Sounds of Australia 2026 collection.
We look at the work of Dr Deniese Cox who examines how digital skills barriers can exclude large numbers of prospective learners before their learning journey begins. Deniese has generously provided a video presentation on her research, accessible in the article, which provides important strategies on how to address these barriers.
We highlight a higher education program at Wuyagiba Bush Uni, designed by local Elders in partnership with Macquarie University.
You can also check out a caller story to the Hotline, links to resources for LLN educators developed by Ako Aotearoa, information on National Reconciliation Week, as well as upcoming conferences and workshops, opportunities for scholarships and national recognition through the Australian Training Awards Excellence in LLN Practice award.
