Congratulations to the magnificent Koori Writing Group authors and team on their upcoming launch of Short Stories for the Mob.
The ten new books are written with First Nations adult literacy learners in mind. The books vividly reflect the lives, families and communities of their nine authors, who worked alongside Mirinda Avery, Kate Fazio and Debbie Horgan from Taree TAFE on this important production.
The engaging stories include

- On the Mission
- Becoming A Dad.
Understanding the need for relatable books for beginning adult readers, the Koori Writing Group has generously shared these with the Reading Writing Hotline. This is on top of books from a previous program, Our Words Our Stories, to add to a small bank of accessible books for First Nations adult literacy learners and their teachers.
Beautifully illustrated, Short Stories for the Mob is a remarkable achievement and gift, making it possible for all of us to enjoy reading through the lens of NSW north coast cultures.
Short Stories for the Mob will be launched in Taree on 24th September and the Hotline looks forward to attending.
