Ros Bauer has extensive experience in adult education and leadership as a LLN practitioner and is currently Head of Department Career Pathways, Aboriginal Languages & Employability Skills at TAFE NSW. She was the winner of the 2013 Australian Training Awards Excellence in Adult LLN Practice and a recipient of an Executive Fellowship through the Australian Endeavour Awards; which included a professional learning experience in Scandinavia. She was part of the NT LLN Network Group and an educational consultant to the Warlpiri Youth Development Aboriginal Corporation.

 

After 16 years at the helm of the world’s largest rock lobster exporter, Wayne Hosking re-trained as an adult literacy and numeracy teacher.  Wayne was chair of the Geraldton University Centre when it transitioned from a University-controlled entity to Australia’s first independent, locally controlled University Centre.

He taught literacy at the Greenough Regional Prison for 3 years, and now runs Hub Cap, providing literacy, art and music programs for marginalised men in the Mid-West community.  He is also a tutor for Curtin University Centre for Aboriginal Studies and a support worker for Housing First Support Services.

 

Amanda Shepherd is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Green Fox Training Studio. Green Fox Studio is an award-winning, full-service creative agency and social enterprise operating Australia’s first not-for-profit graphic and digital design training studios inside prisons, detention centres and in the community. She has over 25 years of experience in the industry.

 

 

Josephine Boffa is the Community Partnerships Coordinator for Jesuit Community College, a program of Jesuit Social Services. She has extensive experience working in the not-for-profit sector in the areas of education, training and employment in assisting individuals, and by extension, their families to achieve greater social and economic participation.
