06 Feb Are you looking for professional development opportunities?
The VET Development Centre (VDC) based in Melbourne offers a range of professional learning to staff in the VET sector across Australia. This includes in person workshops, online and hybrid professional development such as interactive webinars, self-paced eLearns, conferences and special activities. Their PD doesn’t specifically focus on literacy/numeracy issues, but many offerings will be relevant to our field.
There is usually a fee attached to each session, however, for the Victorian VET Workforce, (Skills First Providers and Learn Local) there are government funded free professional development opportunities.
Good news!
VDC is offering two complimentary places in any of their one-hour webinar sessions, for the first two Literacy Links readers who email us on [email protected].
Check out the VDC website to see their current program which includes sessions on Generative AI, Teaching Students with Anxiety, Digital Skills and Digital Literacy Mapping, just to name a few.
You can also access their self-paced on-demand webinars and e-Learns that explore a variety of topics including digital literacy, and student engagement strategies.
VDC was established in 2005 by the Victorian Government to promote the development and raise the professional standing of people working in the VET Sector. This year, VDC is celebrating 20 years of professional learning.
