If you are interested in some of the latest research and teaching developments in VET and the literacy/numeracy field you may be interested in these upcoming conferences.

  • The 2024 annual conference for the Australian VET Research Association (AVETRA) will be held 3-4 October in Sydney at the Aerial Centre, University of Technology, Sydney. The conference theme is “Impetus and Impact: Research that Challenges and Shapes VET Policy and Practice”.  Educators, policymakers, industry leaders, and researchers will be sharing their insights, challenges, and innovations.   • CCA Annual Conference returns to Sydney on October 21-23. Registrations are now open for the 2024 CCA Annual Conference. This year’s theme is “Creative Resilience: Adapting and thriving in an uncertain world”. There will be a range of important discussions, presentations and workshops about navigating through this unique time.   • ACDEVEG24 Conference The Australian Council of Deans of Education Vocational Education Group conference will be held on 9-10 December 2024 at the Queensland University of Technology (Gardens Point campus), Brisbane, and promises to be an exciting opportunity to share and discuss the latest developments in VET teaching and teacher education.   • NSWALNC Annual Conference will be held on 13 December 2024. The New South Wales Adult Literacy and Numeracy Council annual in-person conference will be held at the Eora Centre, TAFE NSW, 333 Abercrombie St, Redfern, Sydney. The theme is Creating authentic materials and activities in the age of AI. This conference is always a great event with international and local speakers that deepen our understanding and inspire our practice. This year’s keynote speaker will be Professor Erik Jacobsen from Montclair University, USA. Professor Jacobson will talk about his work on authentic materials and activities in the current context of adult literacy.

The deadline for Workshop and Paper Proposals  has been extended to Wednesday 25th September. So if you have some good practical ideas or research to share or if you have colleagues with great ideas or research there is still time to submit a proposal. The EARLY BIRD Registration closes on the 13th October.
