Adult Learners Week is an opportunity to reinvigorate and celebrate learning in Australia. Visit the Adult Learners Week Website for more information and great events near you. The Reading Writing Hotline is launching two major resources for Adult Learners Week.
These are:
- A free series of eight engaging and stimulating professional development videos demonstrating numeracy teaching. The series has been produced by the Hotline in conjunction with and presented by Dr Keiko Yasukawa from the University of Technology, Sydney. - A new introductory video to the Adult Literacy Tutoring program for libraries and communities. The video features Pam Osmond, Literacy Specialist, who provides an overview of the program and what’s involved in its delivery.
Adult Learners Week runs from 1–8 September and incorporates International Literacy Day, which is celebrated annually on September 8.
Adult Learners Week is a UNESCO initiative. It is supported in Australia by the Commonwealth Department of Employment and Workplace Relations and coordinated by Adult Learning Australia.
